Market Status

Japan is the largest current market in the Pacific Rim area, and Japanese customers continue to be willing to pay a value premium for products with a strong brand and service strategy.

China has the largest long-term growth potential and thus receives the majority of current press coverage.  Chinese customers are exceptionally price focused but require a high service level, which puts pressure on revenue growth and margin.  A successful strategy for China should be long-term, based on projected scale and growth, with an expectation of a long-term ROI.

Australia is a mature market, albeit with a slower growth rate than the rest of the region; growth forecasts should be tempered appropriately. The Australian market is important as it is viewed by many in the region as an early adopter of new technologies, and as such success in Australia can often be leveraged in other parts of Asia.
